Welcome to the LCIC Health and Wellness Website. The Lycoming County School Districts and Pennsylvania College of Technology are part of the Lycoming County Insurance Consortium (LCIC) that serves the employees of the 8 school districts and Penn College. The LCIC goal is to provide sound, quality health insurance to their employees at a reasonable rate. The employee health and wellness was implemented six years ago in each district and Penn College with the goal of reducing the cost of health issues and chronic disease. The health and wellness program is guided by the Health and Wellness Coordinator with the vision to inspire employees and their families in healhty living practices by engaging them with sustainable wellness activities and education.
To develop and enhance organization health by fostering interest and encouraging employees and their families to initiate or expand healthier lifestyle, provide diverse wellness programs to meet a wide range of personal health needs, inspire and empower individuals to take responsibility for their own health and develop a positive school culture that is focused on celebrating and improving the quality of life for all employees.
Health and Wellness Coordinator
I work directly with the school districts to improve their knowledge of health and wellness related issues as well as becoming a resource for them. As a certified Health and Wellness coach and Lifestyle Medicine Coach, I work directly with employees, spouses and dependents on a variety of health and wellness issues. My background and education are in Sports Medicine and I am a certified athletic trainer. I have worked in various settings in colleges, high schools and clinics. I also taught AP Biology and Sports Medicine at a high school in Virginia. My most recent adventure was working as a healthcare advocate for colleges and universities in PA, MD, VA and NC. I have spent many years working on injury management, injury prevention, nutrition, strength and conditioning and overall wellness.
